Happy Easter!!!

I've spent the weekend with my family at our place at Crescent Beach in South Carolina. It's been veeeery relaxing (much needed) and it's been nice to spend some time with my brother, who lives in Chapel Hill.

It's been cold, but today the sun is shining, and does it really matter what the temperature is? I mean, it's the beach! I'll take it.

The rest of the weekend will probably consist of a few mimosas, some shopping, and a lot more relaxing. And probably some blogging. =)

(The Easter Bunny even made a quick stop! AND he remembered how much I love Reese's eggs.)

Hope you've had a great weekend too!

My first installment of Confetti Fridays! How exciting! (That is confetti-worthy in itself, don't you think?)

Some things that have made me smile this week...

Working out with my new iPod. Garrett got me a purple iPod shuffle for my birthday, and I'm pretty sure that it makes working out easier. I guess I can't be sure.. but I'm pretty sure.

The return of Happy Endings! Happy Endings is one of my favorite shows. Don't get me started on how horribly ABC has been handling Happy Endings (I'll probably get myself started in a blog post soon anyway), but at least it's back and that's all that matters, right? Everyone watch! ABC at 8 and 8:30pm!

My new Tervis tumbler. I've had my eye on this thing for over a year, but since it's almost $30 retail, I could never pull the trigger. Thankfully, my parents pulled it for me for my birthday last week. And I love it! It's super insulated so my drinks stay cold and it doesn't get condensation everywhere. It's also super cute. =)

The Cheese Issue of the Food Network magazine. I love cheese. I love it. Everyone knows this. When my mom saw this issue, she knew I had to have it. I mean, it has 50 different ways to do macaroni and cheese! 50! Could a magazine be any more perfect? No, it couldn't.

White Jeans. I LOVE my white jeans. I wear them all through the spring and summer. I may have cheated a little bit, because I know you're not supposed to wear them until after Easter, but I may have pulled them out a few days early. Now if the weather would warm up a little bit, it would REALLY be spring! I can't wait.

I hope you've had a confetti-worthy week, too!

Outfit of the Day

Excuse my super messy bathroom, but I was just so excited to put up my first OOTD shot that I totally forgot what my surroundings looked like!

I love scarves. I wear them at least twice a week. I just think they're the perfect accessory! You could wear the same outfit five days in a row, but throw on a different scarf every day

There's nothing super special about this outfit, but this scarf is one of my favorites. It's from J Crew and it's amazing. It's all my favorite colors, it's soft, it's exactly the right length, and it always lays exactly how I want it to.

White Tee - H&M
Scarf - J Crew
Jeans - Gap
Watch - Relic, gifted
Pearl Bracelet - gifted
Boots - Steve Madden

Mani Monday

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Effects in Beat You To It

I love the Sally Hansen nail strips. They're not a viable option for every single manicure, since they usually cost the same as an entire bottle of polish, but they're nice when you want to switch it up a bit! I especially love them for the glitters and the prints they have available. The prints are great because, you know, I'm not a fancy nail artist, and the glitters are, in my opinion, more vibrant and glittery than regular polishes.

And it's perfect for St Patrick's Day, no? =)

I bought Beat You To It last year at Ulta on clearance, so I'm not sure if it's still available in store, but I found it on Amazon for $5.97. If you love glitter as much as I do, you'll enjoy this set!

One water filter.

It's weird how time passes when you're waiting for something.

I replaced the filter in my water pitcher this weekend. They typically last three months, so I calculated when I would need to replace the filter in my head.

It'll need to be replaced in June. When Garrett is planning on moving here. By the time I need to replace the water filter again, he'll be here.

I was talking to my mom the other day about the remaining trips I have to Virginia. Next weekend, Garrett's birthday weekend, Garrett's graduation weekend, and a wedding in June. Only four more trips. I've made the trip to Virginia at least once a month, every month, for the last year. But now there are only four trips left.

And then we don't have to do this anymore. No more depending on FaceTime and text messages Google Chat. No more "what are you eating for dinner?" messages. No more weekends jam packed with activities because we feel like we have to squeeze everything in in the short time that we're together. That's absolutely crazy to me. Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled. But it's so crazy.

We will have been living in separate states for eighteen months when he moves here. That's six water filters, two awards seasons, four grading periods, god knows how many trips back and forth.

But now, the end is in sight. We only have three months, and one water filter left until we get to be together. When I replace my filter again, it won't be mine anymore. It'll be ours. For our house.

Only one water filter left.

I'll drink to that.

Pomp and Circumstance?

I think of this as sort of a "graduation" from my old blog.

I love blogging. I've been doing it for a little more than three years. I started out on Tumblr, which is a great platform to use if you've never blogged before. It's easy to figure out, easy to make friends, and easy to get inspired! I love it there, and I still plan on keeping up with my Tumblr blog and the great community that I've come to be a part of. (If you'd like the link to my Tumblr blog, let me know!)

But I've been feeling for a while that I want something a little more "grown up." My old blog has seen three boyfriends, a college graduation, new jobs, a zillion friends coming and going. It's seen a lot. And while I don't want to get rid of all of those things permanently, I don't necessarily want to be attached to them every day. I want a fresh start. The kind of fresh start you get after graduation.

So cue the music. Let's do this.
