Um. Holy crap. October? OCTOBER?
I don't really have anything of substance to add to the internet today, (then why the eff are you even posting, Alyssa? Gah.) but I couldn't let the first day of one of my favorite months go by without acknowledging it at all, right?
I thought about talking about the shutdown, but I don't have anything to say that everyone else hasn't already said... House Republicans have been trying to defund the ACA for two years now... it didn't work, stop throwing a tantrum and get over it. Also, the fact that members of Congress (AKA the people who decided to shut down the government in the first place) still get paid when actual government employees do not is infuriating. Also:
Anyway, coming up on the blog this month:
I'm going to talk about how I've been meal-planning, how I keep my blogthings organized, and why I hate Breast Cancer Awareness month. Anything else you're interested in reading about?
As far as my blogging goals go, I had planned on reading MWF Seeks BFF this month, but I haven't been able to find it at my bookstore yet, so I might just read The Happiness Project. Also, we probably won't get the gallery wall together. I've realized that that kind of decor is something that grows organically as you accumulate pictures and frames and things, so I'm not going to rush into putting anything up. Even though the hugely empty walls in the dining room are driving me kind of insane.
Finally, I'm going to leave you with this: Garrett and I were looking at the Kate Spade Saturday sale online last night when we saw this dress:
I was gushing about how much I loved it (duh) when Garrett says: "It looks like one of those optical illusion things... like if I stare at your boobs long enough, a helicopter will appear."
Thaaaaaanks, babe. This is what I get for trying to be fashion-y.

I read the Happiness Project and I found it really useful. I definitely recommend it!
I will be adding those two books to my ever growing reading list! :) My eyes did go a like wonky looking at that dress, but it is cute!
LOL now I see his point about the dress. I bet it wouldn't be so bad, life-sized. I've heard good things about The Happiness Project - I should plan to read it too.
I did get a little dizzy looking at the dress!
I bought MWF Seeks BFF on Amazon- my favorite site in the world!
