Wish List: Home Edition

Now that we have all the big furniture pieces in our house, I've (naturally) turned my attention to finding the little, decorative stuff. A hundred hours and a million dollars later, I think I found some pretty cute stuff. (none of which I've bought yet.)

Ikea Lamp Shade, $14.99. We have two brass lamp bases that I'm going to spraypaint either black or gray.)
Yellow Patterned Pillow, $16.99
Ikea Rug, $19.99.
Orange Pintuck Pillow, $16.99
Relax Pillow, $16.99
It's hard to find pillows that won't compete with the super obnoxious couch we have, I'll tell ya. Also, Target pillows speak to me.

Illume Starlight Tin, $22.50
Mirror Set, $44
Glass Ball Vase, $12 (I probably need a few of these, right?)
Blue Cairo Vase, $7.25

Also, I wanted to get your feedback. As you know, we have this couch cover:
I'm at a loss with what to do for curtains. Obviously, we have a lot of color going on, but in small accent ways. I feel like solid black curtains would be too harsh (maybe?), but a black/white print would be hard because most would be overwhelming with the print on the couch. OR should I go with a royal blue that matches the pillows we already have? Or another color? Teach me how to adult please!

I think solid black curtains would look sleek and classy and being solid they would offset the pattern of the couch nicely.

I love those glass ball jars, I would need one in each color.

My roommate had that IKEA rug in red... seriously, best $20 ever spent!

I think solid black curtains would be fine - plus you would be able to change up pillows and other accent colors anytime you want. Or maybe a black curtain with white trim? Even just adding one big white stripe towards the bottom of the panels? (I've seen neat tutorials to do this with paint, or get someone who can sew to hook you up!)

And I LOVE the glass ball vases. Wishlisting for my new apartment.

Solid curtains in your accent color is my vote!

The wish list for my home would be so bloody long it isn't funny it would trail around the house like toilet paper stuck in your bum

I would go with an off white with a black trim for curtains if you can find it. Maybe something like this: http://www.decorpad.com/bookmark.htm;jsessionid=69FB96D39936573F95780A9108C046DC.worker2?bookmarkId=19733

I personally love very bold curtains but I think black curtains would be too harsh also. And black and white design might be too much going on unless you keep them solid white with a black bottom horizontal stripe/panel. I would try to match the light color in the couch. (Can't tell if that is white, off white or grey) and go with clean neutral look. And then it won't clash with the couch or the other colors.I love the colors. I am in the process of redoing my living room. (Different style but similar colors) I am using a black, white, grey and mustard yellow pallet with different fabrics and now I am trying to find a rug to go along that doesn't clash with all the other patterns. lol...good luck! Check out my post and PLEASE give me your opinion!
