Love Lists

Uh- HELLO:
alyssasaidhi.com is OFFICIALLY OFFICIAL. I feel so legit.

This tweet.
Seriously, I don't think I've laughed at anything this hard in a really long time.

Pumpkin Everything.
Seriously - coffee? cream cheese? m&ms? when will the madness end?! (never, hopefully.)

Bethenny's Talk Show.
I love love LOVE her, and her inappropriateness, so I really love watching her show every day.

Having a DVR.
I've never had a DVR before. My parents have one at their house, but it never felt like MINE, you know? This one is alllll mine (and Garrett's.) Seriously, it doesn't take much to impress me.

This sweater from Target.
This was the last thing I bought before I committed to No-Spend September with Stevie (holy alliteration.) and bonus: I got it on sale!

Half Price Wine.
The italian restaurant close to our apartment does half price bottles of wine on Tuesdays, sooooo you know where we were last night. And probably every Tuesday from now until forever.

The new iPhones.
I'm not one of those people who always need the best (I'm still rocking the iPhone 4 that I got in 2011) but dang, that gold iPhone is pretty freakin' sexy. And an iPhone that takes clear pictures in low lighting? How special!

What are you loving lately? And what do you think about the new iPhones? Will you be investing? Tell me everything, I love talking about this stuff.

A Totally Unsponsored, Totally Unbiased Post About Things That Are Awesome

1. Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids
I had been wanting to try the bright lip trend for a while. when I started to do research on the best bright lipsticks out there, MAC lipstick was far and away the most highly recommended. I don’t have a problem spending money on higher end makeup (buying the Naked2 palette was the best thing I ever did ever), but since I’m not a huge lipstick wearer anyway, I didn’t want to spend a ton of money on something I knew I might not use that often.
This lipstick is amazing, you guys. I’ve never used Mac, so I provide a comparison, but I can’t imagine that MAC is any brighter than these colors. I purchased Vivid Rose and Brazen Berry and love them both. They last a long time and the color payoff is just AMAZING. See?
If you’re looking for something bright but you're not ready to splurge, you should definitely give these a try. And then come visit me and we can have a bright lip party and be Those Girls when we go out that night.

2. SO... Eyelet Shorts
I had been on the hunt for some white shorts for a while, but as I've said before, I wanted them to be pretty cheap because white clothing just doesn't last more than a season or two. I stumbled upon these at Kohls a few weeks ago and INSTANTLY fell in love. They're comfy and exactly the right length for my short body. I might go buy a few pairs, just so I can stock up for the next few years and and you should too, because for $9, why the heck not? BONUS: they are almost IDENTICAL to these Lilly Pulitzer shorts that retail for $94. That's a big deal, you guys.

3. Jergens Gradual Tanning Lotion
I’ve actually been using this for a while, but they recently changed the formula so it’s much less stinky. It maintains the color that I got at the beach without turning orange or ridiculous, which is no easy feat on my normally fair skin.

4. French Bull Sleigh Tray
I actually got this for free because I had a ton of Birchbox points saved up, but I think for $23, this tray is a steal anyway. When I saw the bright colors and the chevron, I knew I had to scoop it up for our living room. It’s totally normal to plan your entire living space around a serving tray, right?
It's not available on Birchbox anymore, but I found it at Macy's for only $3 more here.

5. Ralph Lauren Aimon Sandals

I ordered a few pairs of boots at Christmas, so I had a $30 rewards certificate for DSW. (If you’re not a member of the DSW rewards program, you most definitely should be.) I had been looking for a new pair of gold sandals anyway, so when I saw these in my size, I knew I had to have them. They were on sale for $50, so I was only going to have to pay $20. Not too shabby for a pair of gorgeous Ralph Lauren sandals, right? When I got to the register, they were an additional 40%, so my grand total was…. one penny. ONE PENNY! Can’t even deal with how awesome I am at shopping. I really can’t, you guys.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM.
Have you gotten anything awesome lately? Anything I should go scoop up immediately? Tell me all about it.

Mani Monday + Three Things on my Lust List

It's Monday, so I feel obligated to recap my weekend, so here goes: beer, dog snuggles, DVRed TV shows, coffee.

Got all that? Good.

Also, did anyone watch the Tonys last night? AMAZE.

Now, let's get on to more important things, like what's on my fingernails right now:

This weeks mani is Zoya Skylar. Zoya is far and away my favorite polish brand, and the light blue with flecks of beige make this a perrrrrfect spring color.

Three things I'm totally lusting over right now:
aka things I would only buy if I won a gazillion dollars in assorted giveaways.
1. Black Pom Skirt by Dorothy Perkins
2. MAB Tote by Rebecca Minkoff via Piperlime
3. Kikka Wedge by Splendid (I'll take one in each color, thanks.)

What are you lusting over right now?

Some Monday things...

  • How I ever lived without International Delights Iced Coffee in my life is just beyond me.
  • My weekend was good. Very relaxing. Got some good shopping done, and spent some QT with Meredith. One of us will be out of town the next two weekends, so I'm glad we got some time in!
  • I watched the MTV Movie awards last night and they were awful. Just awful. Does that surprise anyone? No? Didn't think so.
  • They DID show the first trailer for Catching Fire, and it looks amaaaaazing! See it here. I can't wait!
  • I realized after I watched it that by the time it comes out, I'll be married!! So crazy.
  • Several blogger friends have announced their pregnancies lately and I'm so excited for them! (No, YOU have baby fever. YOUUUUUU do.)
  • I have a lot to do before I leave for Virginia on Friday. It makes me tired just thinking about it. But I miss that tall guy something fierce. And it's his birthday weekend! So excited.
  • I'm so excited about Bigs and Littles! Getting the email this morning made me super happy, and I can't wait to get started!
  • Several stores have some great online deals going on right now. I'm on a self-imposed spending freeze, but if I wasn't, I would probably be buying...

This anchor tee from J. Crew because I love anything with an anchor on it. Seriously, anything.

Eventually, I'll stop talking about how thrilled I am that it finally feels like springtime.

But that day is not today.

Hope the weather starts to warm up for the rest of you soon!

Stuff I love: Dr Jart

Full disclosure: I still get zits sometimes. It's super annoying as a 25 year old woman.

Because of this, I've always been a full-coverage-foundation kind of girl (I've been using Revlon Colorstay for five or six years now). I've never been a fan of tinted moisturizers. They never provide enough coverage, and if they do, they don't last all day, or even half the day. To me, that's totally unacceptable.

When BB creams came onto the scene, I didn't give them much thought. To me, they just seemed like glorified tinted moisturizers. People swore they were different... but were they really? I had tried a few samples here and there, and so far, they weren't different. Not at all.

But then I got this in my March Birchbox.

This stuff is a game-changer. It covers everything I need it to cover, and it lasts all day (with a touch of Make Up For Ever MicroHD powder on top). I never thought those things were possible in a foundation that wasn't already classified as a long-wearing foundation.

I never knew what it was like to feel like my skin was breathing through my foundation. How novel, right? It feels so good on my face. I don't use it every day, so I can't attest to the skin-enhancing benefits. But I can tell you that my skin feels moisturized and wonderful while it's on, and it's easy to remove so I don't feel like it's still hanging around and clogging my pores after I take it off.

I'm not going to ditch my Revlon yet, because on super long days, I want something I know is going to last all day and all night without any touch-ups at all, but this is definitely going into the rotation.

If you're looking for a full coverage BB cream, I highly recommend this one!
