The Sunday Currently

Watching the Panthers, duh. I'm hoping we win, but I wouldn't be THAT sad if we didn't, because I know Adrian Peterson needs some good juju right now, and I've always liked him.
Reading all my magazines that I have to catch up on. I'm hoping to get at least one recipe for the week out of Better Homes and Gardens.
Looking At furniture on Target.com. I want this and this and this and basically the entire collection.
Smelling clean laundry... lots of it, obviously. I love the smell of clean clothes, but I hate.... everything else that comes along with clean clothes. You feel me?
Ignoring that big pile of Garrett's socks that need to be matched/folded. I hate putting socks together. No thx.
Excited that I made the bed this morning. #itsthelittlethings
Drinking coffee out of my new mug! Looooooove.
Thinking about my posts for the week.... I haven't planned anything, to be totally honest. Whoops.
Excited about the wine and champagne glasses we got yesterday, even though I broke one literally the second I picked it up. Sometimes I don't know my own strength, you know?

How's your Sunday going?

The Sunday Currently

Watching some HIMYM reruns right now... in the bedroom, because Garrett is watching soccer in the living room on the big TV.
Reading through tons and tons of blogs. I have a few days to catch up on... has anything exciting happened lately?!
Smelling the Pumpkin Spice Wallflower I got from Bath and Body Works... I got several last season when they were on clearance, and I just got it out this week. This thing is LEGIT, you guys. The scent is so strong, but not overwhelming. I had always just been a Glade person, but I think this one might be worth the cost in the future, especially if I can scoop them up on clearance or when they're having a 3/$20 promotion.
Looking at all the dirty clothes in the hamper right now. Yikes. I need a maid.
Excited that this weekend has actually been a slow one. I mean, we were still busy, but for once, I don't feel like it's TOTALLY sped by. Very thankful for that.
Drinking coffee out of one of my favorite mugs ever. I'm not a huge Disney person, but I've always really loved this mug that I got at Disney World in 2009. Also, we've been trying all the different pumpkin coffee creamers this weekend, so my coffee is full of pumpkin-y goodness.
Thinking about a blog post for tomorrow... weekend recap? regular post? We DID things this weekend, so I'll probably go recap. Maybe I'll even link up? This has been the only linkup I've done consistently in a while, so I should probably find some new ones.
Excited about the new sheets we got yesterday!!! They're so soft and wonderful and fancy, and they look AWESOME with the duvet cover. I had gotten super sick of the red... it was way too bold and obnoxious for the bedroom. I've always pictured a soft, nice, romantic vibe for the bedroom since the living room is so bold and colorful, and we're well on our way!! so exciting.
Anticipating the week, as usual. I'd like to get everything cleaned up in the apartment before the day's over, and get at least two blog posts typed out.

PS - If you haven't entered Jen's $100 giveaway, make sure you do that! And look out for Katie's ad space giveaway that goes live tomorrow!!

Happy Sunday!

The Sunday Currently

Watching football now, but we just finished watching season two of The Newsroom. All I gotta say is: zoommmmmggggggggggggggggg. Who else watched it?
Reading through some magazines that we got yesterday
Writing a blog post or two or five.
Looking at lampshades, rugs, pillows, and faux flowers... we have all the big furniture pieces for the apartment now, so it's on to the fun decorative stuff now!!
Excited that we bought a Magic Mesh today for the patio door so now we can keep the door open all the time! It feels amazeballs in here, for real.
Wearing yoga pants and a hoodie, AKA my fall uniform.
Drinking ummmmm.... take a guess? Hint: I drink it every Sunday. And no, it's not a mimosa.... although it probably should be.
Thinking about a grocery list for tomorrow.
Anticipating this week, cause it'll be interesting. Also, the pizza Garrett is going to bring home in approximately four minutes.

How's your Sunday?

The Sunday Currently

Whew! It's the first time in a LONG time I've been able to link up with Lauren for TSC! It feels good, man.

Watching THE PANTHERS. We weren't home for football last Sunday, so I am LOVING today.
Reading Twitter, mostly! I love twitter during football season. (And all the other times too, duh)
Writing blog posts for tomorrow and Tuesday (at least)
Looking For patio furniture... hoping to find something for our balcony now that it's after labor day and everything is cheaper.
Excited that we found curtains for our bedroom earlier! $20 total for two light blocking, energy saving, 84 in panels. I am thrilled.
Wearing my hedgehog sweater! and shorts, because it's kinda hot outside. but - hedgehogs!
Drinking iced coffee, as usual
Thinking about meals for this week.. we're going shopping in a little bit!
Feeling like I need the weekend to be juuust one day longer. Don't you agree?

Happy Sunday!

The Sunday Currently

Sitting in the floor of our NEW apartment. Wooo!!!
Looking all this stuff in front of me that still needs to be unpacked.
Reading my new Women's Health mag.
Hearing uh, nothing. We don't have cable hooked up yet, so we haven't brought the TV over, so it's pretty stinkin' quiet over here. By next Sunday, I'm guessing it's going to be filled with sounds of European football, and then a few weeks after that, AMERICAN FOOTBALL.
Clicking through Pinterest... We have a mantel over the fireplace (we have a fireplace) that needs some decorating.
Planning oh, just dinner for this week! We're doin' it, you guys!
Excited that we're finally IN! We still have a lot to unpack and organize (and we don't have a couch or a dining room table in here yet) but we're in and it's ours and that is wonderful.
Wearing a tshirt and shorts. And no underwear. I don't tell you this to be gross or anything, I'm telling you so you can make fun of me for LEAVING ALL MY UNDERWEAR AT MY PARENTS HOUSE. What a moron.
Typing a few emails and a post for tomorrow.
Feeling tired and mostly uncaffienated. Yikes.

Happy Sunday!!!!

The Sunday Currently

Sitting at the hospital.
Reading uh, job descriptions. Really exciting stuff.
Hearing nothing right now. It's quiet. Tooooo quiet.
Looking at covers for the IKEA couch we're getting from Jenna and Andy! Trying to decide if we should go neutral or crazy. I'm thinking crazy.
Planning how we're going to arrange everything at our new apartment! I have a floorplan pulled up and everything. Also trying to figure out how we're going to get everything into a small-ish kitchen.
Excited Garrett will be here tonight! Finally.
Wearing blue pants, because I am cool.
Typing well... nothing really, besides this post.
Feeling caffeinated.

We officially have an apartment and an address, you guys!!! We don't move for another few weeks, but we have an apartment, and it doesn't smell like cigarette smoke, and it is ours and it is perfect. I'm so excited!!!

The Sunday Currently

Watching Fever Pitch on AMC.
Reading Dirty Sexy Politics by Meghan McCain. I just finished it this morning! Review this week!!! (saying it here to keep me accountable, obviously.)
Hearing the occasional dog snore.
Looking at the IKEA catalogue! And lots of other furniture websites.
Pinning pretty much everything, to be honest. Paint colors and pillows and fabric for curtains, and also DIY projects that I miiiiiight need Garrett's help with. Bahahah.Excited that things are starting to come together for our new apartment! And also about my tray that I finally got yesterday!!!! Do you follow me on Instagram? Did you see it?
Wearing real pants. With a button. On a Sunday. I don't know either.
Typing well... this, duh. But also a post for tomorrow.
Feeling sad that I have to give the puppy back in a little bit. Boooooooooooooooo.
Ready for Garrett to be here so we can go look at furniture and make some plans and all that stuff. Sooooo ready.

Happy Sunday!!!!!

Watching the rain. Also the Real Housewives.
Anticipating the mac and cheese I'm about to make as soon as I finish this post.
Reading Dirty Sexy Politics by Meghan McCain. It's pretty freakin' good.
Hearing the occasional clap of thunder
Considering a post for tomorrow. Should I do a weekend recap? Hmmmmm. My weekend wasn't THAT interesting so we'll see.
Excited to be keeping the dog ALL WEEK LONG. His people are going out of town. I don't promise to give him back next week. And also,
Excited that Stevie is married now!! I've been stalking all her social networks for a good 24 hours now, and the pictures are amazing.
Wearing legggings, a striped tank and a plaid scarf. Whatever. It's the weekend, and I have a solid "no pants with buttons" rule for the weekends. Especially those that involve rain.
Drinking water, right now.
Feeling excited about the next few weeks.
Hoping that Garrett will win a gazillion dollars playing poker tonight. I can dream, right?
Wondering what color I should paint my nails for the week. These are the tough decisions I have in my life right now.

Whenever I do these, that Jack Johnson song always pops into my head. "I was sitting, waiting, wishing..." Maybe that should be my new Sunday theme song.

(Linking up with Lauren, naturally.)

A Totally Unsponsored, Totally Unbiased Post About Things That Are Awesome

1. Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids
I had been wanting to try the bright lip trend for a while. when I started to do research on the best bright lipsticks out there, MAC lipstick was far and away the most highly recommended. I don’t have a problem spending money on higher end makeup (buying the Naked2 palette was the best thing I ever did ever), but since I’m not a huge lipstick wearer anyway, I didn’t want to spend a ton of money on something I knew I might not use that often.
This lipstick is amazing, you guys. I’ve never used Mac, so I provide a comparison, but I can’t imagine that MAC is any brighter than these colors. I purchased Vivid Rose and Brazen Berry and love them both. They last a long time and the color payoff is just AMAZING. See?
If you’re looking for something bright but you're not ready to splurge, you should definitely give these a try. And then come visit me and we can have a bright lip party and be Those Girls when we go out that night.

2. SO... Eyelet Shorts
I had been on the hunt for some white shorts for a while, but as I've said before, I wanted them to be pretty cheap because white clothing just doesn't last more than a season or two. I stumbled upon these at Kohls a few weeks ago and INSTANTLY fell in love. They're comfy and exactly the right length for my short body. I might go buy a few pairs, just so I can stock up for the next few years and and you should too, because for $9, why the heck not? BONUS: they are almost IDENTICAL to these Lilly Pulitzer shorts that retail for $94. That's a big deal, you guys.

3. Jergens Gradual Tanning Lotion
I’ve actually been using this for a while, but they recently changed the formula so it’s much less stinky. It maintains the color that I got at the beach without turning orange or ridiculous, which is no easy feat on my normally fair skin.

4. French Bull Sleigh Tray
I actually got this for free because I had a ton of Birchbox points saved up, but I think for $23, this tray is a steal anyway. When I saw the bright colors and the chevron, I knew I had to scoop it up for our living room. It’s totally normal to plan your entire living space around a serving tray, right?
It's not available on Birchbox anymore, but I found it at Macy's for only $3 more here.

5. Ralph Lauren Aimon Sandals

I ordered a few pairs of boots at Christmas, so I had a $30 rewards certificate for DSW. (If you’re not a member of the DSW rewards program, you most definitely should be.) I had been looking for a new pair of gold sandals anyway, so when I saw these in my size, I knew I had to have them. They were on sale for $50, so I was only going to have to pay $20. Not too shabby for a pair of gorgeous Ralph Lauren sandals, right? When I got to the register, they were an additional 40%, so my grand total was…. one penny. ONE PENNY! Can’t even deal with how awesome I am at shopping. I really can’t, you guys.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM.
Have you gotten anything awesome lately? Anything I should go scoop up immediately? Tell me all about it.

The Sunday Currently

Watching How I Met Your Mother on Netflix.
Typing with one hand because a certain dog is laying on my other one.
Reading about both Cory Monteith and the Zimmerman trial. What a depressing 24 hours, right?
Hearing squeaks from a squeak toy. Lots of them.
Writing my post for tomorrow. At least, I'm planning my post for tomorrow in my head. It might be sentimental by accident. I can't tell yet.
Excited to finally be reunited with this little dog! It's been like two weeks.
Wearing an H&M dress, but I'm about to go change clothes.
Drinking a Dr Pepper.
Wishing that tomorrow wasn't Monday, if I'm being honest. More vacation, plz.
Anticipating the next few days. Lots of things are happening, my friends!
Feeling a bit tired I suppooooose. I see a nap in my future. We'll see how amenable the dog is to that.
(Linking up with Lauren, duh)

I also have a few things I'd like to get off my chest about the George Zimmerman trial.. The whole situation sucks. It just sucks.
If I'm SUPER honest with myself, I know that the state probably wasn't able to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that George Zimmerman killed Travyon Martin in cold blood. And really, we'll never know exactly what happened. To be clear, I absolutely think he should be in jail. But the rational part of me knows that it's impossible to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt exactly what happened. Know what I mean?
But all that doesn't change the fact that George Zimmerman placed himself in a situation he didn't have to be in. The original 911 operator TOLD him not to follow Travyon Martin, and he did it anyway. This entire situation could have been avoided if George Zimmerman wasn't trying to be some crazy vigilante hero trying to save his neighborhood from someone who was never a threat in the first place. Despite the verdict, we all know he killed an innocent seventeen year old boy, and he'll always be that. His life is ruined forever, and at least he's not using up taxpayer dollars sitting in jail.
I hope that we will use this as a lesson that we need to be teaching our children how to be compassionate and tolerant. I also hope that this will remind everyone that the laws AREN'T applied to everyone equally. Women are still fighting for their reproductive rights, gay men and women are still fighting for their right to marry, and an unarmed black teenager is dead because he wanted some Skittles. We make progress every day, but we still have a very, very long way to go.
Also, I saw this gif last night and thought it was pretty freakin' hilarious. (No offense to my Florida friends, obviously.) But who needs a state with such a stupid law? Not me, that's for sure.

Currently, I am...

Watching people. Lots of them have been coming in and out of this Starbucks, but I'm one of the only ones who's sitting in here.
Reading some blogs, playing catch-up. As usual.
Hearing lots of coffee being made.
Writing a super long email to my good friend Jazz about starting her own blog!! Woooooo!!
Excited for the rest of the week. I'll be with Garrett the whole time!
Wearing my I Heart Baltimore shirt. If you follow me on Instagram, you know what I'm talking about.
Drinking a cinnamon dolce latte. It's hot outside, but it is fuh-reezing in here.
Thankful that I'm marrying into a family that isn't crazy. I mean, no more crazy than my own family. Ya dig? =) But seriously, Garrett's family is great. Joining families can be hard, you know?
Wishing that coffee was free all the time. Another latte would be fab.
Thinking about blog posts for the rest of the week.
Anticipating a late lunch later with Garrett's parents (and nephews, maybe?)
Feeling kinda tired. But good nonetheless.
(Linking up with Lauren, duh)

Hope your Sunday is great so far!!!!

The Sunday Currently

(Linking up with Lauren, as usual!!)

Watching
Pretty Wild on Netflix in preparation for seeing The Bling Ring soon. No shame in this game.
Reading some articles about Alexis Neiers. Again: no shame. None whatsoever.
Writing a to-do list for Monday-Wednesday. Lots to do before I see Kelsey on Wednesday and Garrett on Thursday!!!
Excited for the new blog design Meg is doing for me!!!
Wearing my new favorite outfit. I went to church with my parents this morning, so I had an excuse to wear some of my favorite wedges!!
Drinking iced coffee
Thinking about whether I should take a nap or not. I'm not really tired, but it IS a rainy Sunday afternoon. A nap seems like a must.
Anticipating the super short week I'm about to have!!
Feeling content in a way that only comes from a lazy Sunday afternoon. I know you guys know what I'm talking about.

Also, I'm not sure how many of you only follow me via GFC... I've never put much into it since there's been talk of it going away since I started this blog, but just in case you follow me there, I'd love for you to follow me on Bloglovin' as well!

PSA: If this dog becomes ours, puppy spam will reach an all time high. And probably not stop ever. Are we good with that? Yes? Good.

(Linking up with Lauren, as usual!!)
Reading a metric ton's worth of blog posts. I'm so behind!
Writing some posts for this week. I have every day planned (for once) so I'm trying to get Monday through Wednesday written today. Send me some productive vibes, okay?!
Listening to the squeaks coming from the new toy I bought the dog. He loves it, duh. (see obnoxious yellow toy in picture)
Watching HGTV, as usual.
Drinking coffee, duh.
Wishing I was still at the beach. Although I missed the dog while I was gone.. so maybe I wish I could take the dog WITH me, and that we were still at the beach? Yes. Yes, good.
Anticipating the afternoon... I'm going over to the Farmer's Market, DSW and my favorite coffee place. I loooove Sundays.
Wearing the cutest shirt you will ever see ever. (see below) Could you DIE at the bow on the back?! I die. I DIE from cuteness.
Feeling caffeinated. Not sorry.

Have you linked up for the Super Sunday Sync yet? Do it!!!
